Welcome to Pack 375!

Cub Scout Pack 375 extends its welcome to all Kindergarten through Fifth Grade boys from North Hollywood and surrounding Cities.

This is an exciting time for our Pack. Since the founding of St. Charles Borromeo Church in 1920, there hasn't been a Cub Scout and/or Boy Scout Pack that has been associated with the parish, until now! With the support and service of the Greater Los Angeles Area Council - Boy Scouts of America, we have been granted a Chartered Organization to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling them in the values and principles taught in the Scout Oath and Scout Law, including Duty to God.

Cub Scouting is a year-round program uniquely designed to meet the needs of young boys and their parents. The program offers fun and challenging activities that promote character development and physical fitness. Service projects, ceremonies, games and other activities guide boys through the core Scout values and give them a sense of personal achievement. Through positive peer group interaction and parental guidance, boys also learn honesty, bravery and respect. Family involvement is an essential part of Cub Scouting and parents are encouraged to play an active role in the program. Through parent, leader and fellow-scout interaction boys will develop citizenship, compassion and courage. This family and community centered approach to learning means that Cub Scouting is truly time well spent.

How much time will we spend in Scouting?

At a minimum, each Scout will have two meetings per month. Scouts join a Den of 4-10 boys and meet twice a month as small groups to work on Scouting skills. Once a month all the Dens join together for a Pack Meeting that builds on the skills the Scouts have learned during their Den Meetings. If your son is entering Kindergarten or First Grade in the Fall, a parent or guardian must accompany him to all Den and Pack Meetings. As he moves on through the program, the parent/scout team will be replaced by Den Leaders and the development of Patrols where the Scouts begin to take leadership of their own groups.

After that, it is up to each family to decide what other activities they would like to participate in. Pack 375 is planning on holding or taking part in over 70 events throughout the year, including camping, hiking, service projects, conservation projects, fundraisers and two derbies. Based on the Scouts interests, there are more than enough events throughout the year to provide a well rounded and fun filled experience.
